Abstract

Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi was simultaneously a great poet, novelist, columnist, critic and intellectual. He was a progressive writer and a believer in literature for life. Like Prem Chand most of his themes and characters reflect rural life and society,. His fiction is full of variety, breadth and variety of themes. He was a philanthropist and a believer in human dignity. The most oppressed and miserable class among them is the woman who is being exploited by various tricks and excuses. In the myth “Faaltoo” there is a character of a mother who is left alone despite giving her son unconditional love. If she does not get the love she was looking for in her son and daughter-in-law, then she prefers death to a life of humiliation.
