Abstract

“Tadveen of Urdu Texts during the 20th century has been carried out simultaneously and often con-currently at various centers of learning in different cities and provinces/ states in India and Pakistan. In the article I discussed the desirability and appropriateness of recording the history the tadveen-e-matan by the method of “Dabistan” treating different centers i.e., Deccan, Lahore, Karachi, Delhi, Lucnow, Ram Pur and Patna etc., where it was carried out, as a whole describing their history as well as characteristics and evolution. This method provides the historian a suitable and appropriate approach to record the history and evolution of Tadveen in urdu without confusing the chronological sequence and differentiating characteristics of different centers.
