Abstract

Urdu short stories (fiction) play vital role in Urdu literature. It has gone through a series of evolutionary processes since Munshi Prem Chand. Ahmed Javed is a renowned fiction writer. He rose high on the horizon of fiction in 70s.He exposed social exploitation, un-justice, atrocity and cruelty through symbolism in his fictions. He used birds, insects and animal e.g. dog’s, cat’s, bears, mice and doves as symbol in his fictions. He had very deep thoughts and observations. He wanted to see his country developed, successful and prosperous. Ahmed Javed has a prominent place in symbolic fiction writers.
