Symbol, metaphor, sign, abstraction, Allegory seem to be the same terms in literary texts but In fact, there are subtle differences between them. These terms are often used in literary piece of writings, which sometimes lead to misunderstandings. To interpret artistic aesthetics of literature, it is essential to ensure a proper semantic understanding of the mentioned terms. This article clarifies the literary definition of these terms and their differences. |
