Abstract

Allama Iqbal is a philosopher cum poet. His teachings are useful for humanity till now after passing a century. The Quran played a vital role in shaping his philosophy. His thoughts and teaching cannot be obsolete because he gets the light from the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him). Iqbal not only gets inspiration from the Holy Quran but also suggests his readers to get the light from the Holy Book. He wrote many verses in his Urdu and Persian poetry about the Quran. He also wrote letters to his friends about the inspiration of Quran. He is of the view that Muslims can regain their great status if they act upon on the Quran teachings. In this article a detailed review has been taken how the Quran shaped his intellectual and mental evolution. A detailed analysis has also been taken about his basic concept "Khudi" in the light of the Quran.
