Ghalib was dynamic personality who will ever remain alive in the pages of Urdu literature as an upholder of our ancient as well as modern civilization. He is the most liked literary figure, particularly for his Urdu poetry and can safely be placed in the vanguard of modernity. His verse touches on multifarious facets of love and beauty and the poetic sensibility seems to be a t its best. His "Deewan" bears witness to Ghalib's sparking genius, revival oratory and powerful use of symbols. By a dint of good exercise of his poetic sensibility and sensitivity, the products are peerless for their aesthetic quality and they give a feel of intellectual superiority of the man. He possesses a remarkable quality of expressing and describing a single idea from different angles. His intellectual hobby-horse and sublime poetic thought exhibit a profound commensuration with poem - composition in which he has been second to none. Ghalib's poetry is the reflection of true human feelings, and delightful expression adds to its beauty. Besides, he is a delicate delineator of psychological profundities. That's why his verse is deemed as an asset to life. One can find the use of wit and humour in Ghalib which are nicely balanced at imaginative scale. His poetry is the manifestation of diverse inner feelings and provides a good read to people belonging to various spheres of life. It is because of these extraordinary characteristics that his most representative work has been termed as a "Revealed Book" of Hindustan. It will be safe to say that Ghalib, for his poetic grandeur and intellectuality, will reign supreme for good. |
