Gustatory Imagery in the Poetry of Zia Jalandhri
Zia Jalandhri is one of the famous poets of the modern period of Urdu poetry. Besides other poetic features, his poetry contains excellent example of imagery. Different forms of imagery can be seen in his poetry and he has successfully showed his artistic skills with regard to imagery. One can find various types of imagery in his verses i.e. visual imagery, auditory imagery, olfactory imagery, tactile imagery. His many poems and verses contain good examples of gustatory imagery, Imagery that engages the sense of taste. This aspect of his imagery has been analyzed and discussed in this research article. |
