Shamsur Rahman Faruqi was an Indian Urdu language poet, author, critic and theorist. He is known for ushering modernism to Urdu literature. "Qabza-e-Zaman" can be regarded as a brilliant amalgamation of Shamsur-Rahman Faruqi various geniuses. In the novel Shamsur Rahman Faruqi discovers a character from the past through Indo-Islamic history, who is a common man but in time travel. He seems to breathe in an era that has passed its time. And he has come in a new age. He is the inhabitant of this moving world, the speed of time has stopped for a few moments. In such a situation, when he turned back, several centuries had passed. Although he was surprised that he spent a few hours in a state of unconsciousness. It was a new experience that was presented in the form of a story. He has presented it concisely and beautifully through the novel. |
