Abstract

Structuralism is one of the most prominent and important way of analyzing literary texts. It deals with the texts in a scientific way. Its job is not just to interpret the meaning or ideas of text but rather more than interpretation. It seeks the poetic backgrounds of a text and relate the text with the structure of language which had already been written. Structural criticism affirms that an author just repeat the old texts nothing is new there in literary texts. Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi is one of the prominent short story writer in Urdu fiction. “Kapas ka phool” is one of his well-known short stories.
