Abstract
Prem Chand is the best short story writer of Urdu. For some time he was also considered as the first fiction writer of Urdu. After further research, Rashidul Khairi was considered to be the first fiction writer of Urdu. "Kafan" is considered a short story written by Prem Chand. Prem Chand has played a few characters in it. The present article presents a psychological study of these characters of Prem Chand.
