Abstract
Urdu ghazal orignates from Arabic to persion and from persion to Urdu .It started from introduction of Arabic Qaseedah. There was no ghazal in Arabic but tashbeeb. Romantic tashbeeb was called ghazal. The very first ghazal which is known in Urdu is by Ameer Khusru .Quli Qutab shah, wali dakni, Shah Hati, Abroo, Sirajuddin, Arzoo, Shakir Naji are important among classics. The golden period of Urdu ghazal include Meer Taqi Meer, Souda, Dard, Meer Soz and Qaim Chand Puri. Ghalib and Momin, Hali and Iqbal are Milestones of Urdu ghazal
