Abstract
|
Hazrat Sultan Bahu is counted among the prominent Sufi elders of the Subcontinent. He was a famous Sufi poet whose poetry is in Persian and Punjabi languages. His poetry is a treasure of moral and sufi ideas. The collection of Punjabi poetry of Sultan Bahu has been published as “Abyaat- e- Bahu”. Two of these translations have special significance. One of them is translation by Abdul Hamid Bhatti, named Abyaat-e- Sultan Bahu, published by Anjuman-e-Taraqi Urdu Pakistan in 1968, and another is Aks-e-Bahu by Masood Qureshi, published from Lok Warsa Islamabad in 1980. These two translations have been critically analyzed and compared in this article and virtues and flaws of these translations have thoroughly been discussed. |
