Allama Muhammad Iqbal is a distinguished poet, a brilliant scholar and a gifted philosopher. But above all else, he is a true visionary. He is a Sufi poet for all the modern ages that aroused a revolutionary spirit in the nation through his poetry. His poetry has been translated in many languages. In his work, he always stressed the greatness of Islam and Muslims. Iqbal did not grow in isolation. He is representative of some basic elements of culture. We cannot think of Iqbal without referring to Ghalib as his predecessor. At the sometime, Molana Rumi and Hafiz Sherazi too influenced Iqbal. We have one thousand years of History of Persian in this era that is why Iqbal preferred this language in his poetry. No doubt, he is the "spiritual father of Pakistan". He followed his predecessors but made his own identification .This is his wisdom and vision, that makes him a remarkable poet of worldwide fame and his work will live forever.
